Urea, thanks to its long, almost 200-year history, can be found under a few names. On ingredients lists of cosmetics, it will most often be simply called Urea. It is a very good, non-toxic and non-allergenic humectant.
It dissolves well in water and does not allow it to evaporate, which is why it has a significant impact on intense hydration of the epidermis (it is one of the most important NMF [Natural Moisturising Factor] components). Thanks to its hygroscopicity, it intensively moisturises the skin, making it well-cared-for, smooth and firm.
