Shea butter is one of the best natural raw materials for body care. It comes from the seeds of wild-growing African Vitellaria paradoxa trees. The butter itself consists of four different types of fatty acids – very well absorbed by the skin; in addition, it is rich in vitamins A, D, Fand E.
It demonstrates a high affinity for epidermal lipid layers and supports their protective effect while strengthening intercellular cement.
It is not allergenic, it can be applied directly to all skin areas (it melts at body temperature), including around the eyes. It takes care of the skin without leaving a feeling of greasiness.
Because of its oily nature, karité butter – because that is how shea butter is also being called – has anti-oedematous, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, soothing, smoothing, revitalizing and blood circulation stimulating effect.
